EPA · Clean Air Act stationary sources (ICIS-AIR)

Air pollution sourcesalerts

ICIS-AIR is the stationary air pollution source register kept under the Clean Air Act. It holds each source's operator, address, county, regulated programs, county air quality standard status, and compliance history. A standing watch sends each morning the entries the agency has added for what you watch: an inspection carried out, a violation determined, or an enforcement action taken, with the record named and the register named.

Who buys it

ICIS-AIR is watched by environmental compliance officers, plant managers, air quality consultants, county and state health departments, law firms, and community groups that need to know when the register adds an inspection, violation, or enforcement action.

Questions

What does the watch send each morning?
Each morning it sends the entries the agency has added to ICIS-AIR for what you watch: an inspection carried out, a violation determined, or an enforcement action taken. Each entry names the record and the register it came from.
Does the watch report changes to a record?
No. The watch does not send notice of a record entering or leaving the register, of a name or address change, or of a status or class change. It sends only the entries the agency has added: inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
Which scopes can I watch?
You can watch a source, a county, a state, or the whole national ICIS-AIR register. Each scope covers the sources the register holds in that area, with the record named and the register named as the source.
What does ICIS-AIR hold for each source?
ICIS-AIR holds each source's operator, address and county, the programs it is regulated under, whether it sits in a county that has failed a national air quality standard, and its compliance history. The register entry is named when the agency adds an inspection, violation, or enforcement action.

How the figures are built

Every figure is the one its source document printed, shown with the file it came from. The three shares that are divided and the positions that are ranked are named on one page. Nothing is estimated. How each figure is defined.
